A coy rejection(REMIX) – poem

Today you came up to me in the street

And pronounced your love for me, but it was a dead beat.

Don’t try to mess around we me foo

Cause I don’t wanna be you’re boo.

You try to swoon me with your saucy words

But everyone knows that they are backwards.

You think your fly but you’re not

You need to spend time, off the crack pot.

You say I’m cute, but I know your lying

I don’t even see, why you’re trying.

You try to impress me, dancing around

But I don’t wanna be caught, on the rebound

Your posse’s pretty fresh, but I don’t know why

Every time I come, around they say goodbye.

Even though u say u love me, I know it can’t be true

Cause once I turn the other way something goes askew.

So now it’s over, between me and you

Go back home, it’s past your curfew

- based upon Andrew Marvell’s “To His Coy Mistress”
