Worst summer ever

If there was one thing I could change it would be the summer of 2007. It was spring time and my hopes were set on a relaxing vacation of lounging around the pool and playing sports. There was only one event left before summer vacation arrived and it was the exploratory arts festival.

I had always thought that “exploratory arts” was a stupid course. There’s nothing like singing, dancing and drawing pictures for 45 minutes a day preparing for a final show at the end of the year. I thought I would be able to get through the final performance by nonchalantly singing and dancing like the rest of the kids. The big night came I followed through with my plan. When I arrived home that evening my parents told me that they were very disappointed with my lackluster performance on stage and that I needed something to help me feel more enthusiastic about performing in from of people.

I pretty much just ignored this remark thinking that they would never follow through with it until I was planning my activities during the summer. I asked my dad to sign me up for three weeks of my favorite basketball camp, and to my surprise he told me that I was going to drama camp for those three weeks. This news hit me like a bomb shell. Three weeks in enemy territory away from the comforts of summer life. After much arguing I was finally forced into going to this camp. The first day arrived and I was thrown in with a bunch of snotty stuck up drama kids who’s moms thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. This would be my first experience of the worst summer of my life.
